HERE’S HOW YOU PLAY YOUR PART

Disaster Health Services

When disaster strikes, volunteer Disaster Nurses meet emergency health needs of disaster victims. These assignments are local, national and international depending upon your training and desires.  Disaster Nurses provide individualized services in a variety of settings including home, hospital, and disasters sites (hurricanes, wildfires, terrorist attacks, floods and tornados).  Red Cross nurses assist clients by replacing prescriptions and/or durable medical equipment destroyed by the disaster.

Program Development

The Red Cross provides opportunities to serve on our nursing health team to develop new and innovative programs, as well as to monitor and expand the availability of a variety of Red Cross services in your community.  You will receive an American Red Cross nursing pin to proudly acknowledge your involvement.

Become a Red Cross volunteer instructor in one or more of the following courses and help people throughout your community prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies:  First Aid,
CPR, HIV, Pandemic Flu Preparedness, Community Disaster Education and Safety for Seniors, Baby Sitter Training, etc.
